Foray into interactive CD-ROM and web design work during the early dot com era, marked the start of my career in UX design

Leading up to the year 2000 were the heady days of the dot-com boom in India. I found myself in the thick of the action doing design for websites and web applications at one of the earliest dot-com companies in Mumbai – Plexus Technologies. Client web projects I handled ranged from online steel exchanges, and telecom operators to travel and youth portals. A year before the start of the dot-com era, CD-ROM multimedia applications were all the rage. I designed interfaces for a good 10-12 kiosk apps for clients ranging from Thomas Cook to ICI Paints including some private automotive companies at S2Grafix, Mumbai – a new media design agency.
